Life goes on… and as you’ve noticed, the blogosphere has gone on without me for quite some time. Right now, I just don’t “have it in me” to do visual art. Eventually I will be back, but it might be a while.
Here are a few updates on what’s going on — good and bad.
First, we have a new kitten. His name is “Hairy” Houdini and he is a joy. He gets along well with our other cats, witht the exception of Flower Child, who doesn’t get along with anyone!

Once I get back to blogging, I’ll share a few stories about Houdini… how he got his name, the hilarious things he’s done, all the health and wellness info on him. He’s doing good. I’m so happy we adopted him.
Now, the sad new. My daughter was diagnosed last year with stage IV ovarian cancer. She underwent surgery, was doing well, and then… bam! The cancer came back with a vengeance. She’s hanging in there but at this point there is no further treatment they can offer. The focus is on comfort and pain management. She is at home on hospice care.
As for vision problems… my husband’s left-eye ordeal may be coming to a conclusion. After several surgeries, he’s been cleared by a retinologist to have a lens implanted. This should happen next week. I am hopeful that all will go well. He can then start scheduling cataract care for his right eye.
My vision is still “iffy” — I think it’s better, but it’s still distorted. The first treatment we tried (the steroid implant) did not work. I received one injection last month and will return to the retinologist in a couple of weeks for an evaluation.
So, folks, it’s been a challenging time. Our family is holding together as best we can, and I’m setting art aside for the moment while I focus on other things. I will be back at some point, but I can’t say when that will be.
All good thoughts, prayers, blessings, and wishes are appreciated.
So sorry to hear your daughter’s cancer has returned, Judith, sending love and hugs for you all at such a difficult time ❤

Thank you. Just spoke to her earlier… pain is under control and she did get some sleep last night. We’re thankful for even the smallest blessing.

Sorry to hear about your daughter’s cancer. Hairy Houdini is such a fun name for a cat. Does he also have a habit of escaping?

The shelter gave him the name “Houdini” when they rescued him. He was found at someone’s workplace, then climbed up into the dashboard of a truck to “escape” from everyone. It took them nearly an hour to get him out. He’s so soft and fluffy, I added the “Hairy” part to his name. It just fits. My daughter is hanging in there, doing the best she can. Our hearts are all breaking as there’s nothing really we can do except offer love and prayers.
