Art Quiz: Question 31

We’ve now reached — and crossed over — the half-way point in this “Art Quiz” feature. How have you done with it so far? Do the questions seem easy? Have some been challenging? Have you found the feature interesting?

I hope you’re enjoying these quiz questions. I’ve learned a lot about art, art history, and famous artists by doing this series. Maybe you’ve learned a few things along the way, too.

Today’s question was a fairly easy one for me. This was something I’d studied, and, in fact, you’ll find posts on the blog regarding this topic. Here’s the question:

Which style of painting flourished in France around the turn of the 20th century?

  • Cubism
  • Cloisonnism
  • Constructivism
  • Fauvism

You probably already know the answer, but please check back at noon (CST). I’ll be giving the correct answer and sharing a little information.

    1. The quiz comes from Encyclopedia Britannica. It was fun when I took it, so I decided to share it question by question. I have learned a lot from it. There were so many artists and art movements and groups I’d never heard about.

      1. Did not check the answer to this one but I think it was cubism, I will look the others questions at some time later but thanks for sharing, it is fun! I was going to comment on the one today but I did wait…did not want to give the answer…:) but I tough Larionov was a soviet hockey player or a scientist, and I know of Delaunay triangulation, from a french mathematician and there is a painter too, so I guess we must be wary of people wearing same names, as Smith for some countries, Tremblay here in Québec…:D will check future posts.
