“Art Quiz” is back, and today’s question is fairly simple, I think. It involves photography, which I definitely consider one of the visual arts. I’ve heard comments from photographers who’ve said their work isn’t always accepted as art, that some people don’t consider photography as a fine art form.
If you’d like to read more on the debate, you’ll find this article interesting: History of Photography as Fine Art.
Now, on to the question: Early photographers made their images on which of these materials?
- Paper
- Plastic
- Glass
- Stone
Check back at noon (CST) for the answer post!
I would say Glass.
If I take picture it is probably because I could not paint decently.

I take photos to use as references in the studio. I do love good photography and definitely consider it a fine art

Asphalt on glass, also on metal.
I consider photography to also be an art form, but I too have had others turn their nose up at it.

I’ve enjoyed reading about the early pioneers in photography. We owe them so much.

I’ve struggled with “fine” art…all the little boxes…maybe the artistic intent behind the image but I don’t know now I’ll ponder that today…have a creative day ~ smiles hedy ☺️
