Some days are good. Some days aren’t. This is one of the latter.
I had a post that published — and the formatting was completely screwed-up. That sometimes happens. I am working to correct the problems, but WordPress is not being too cooperative. I hope to have the post re-formatted and re-published soon, so please check back later. The topic is “art and poetry”.
Nope. It’s not going to work. At this point, my frustration level is a bit too high. I’ll have to start over and re-write the post, and it will publish another day.
I will be back tomorrow with another “Art Quiz” question for you.
Are you using the newer block editor or the older HTML editor? I ask because I was specifically told to use the newer block editor by WordPress support when I was having problems earlier.

I’m still using the “Classic Editor”, and I plan to keep using it as long as possible 🙂 I’m not sure how much longer that’s going to be, though. I used the “block editor” for a time, and I just don’t like it at all.

I hear you. I went through the same hate relationship with the “Block Editor”.
I started out with the “Classic Editor” years ago when I had my earlier WordPress blogs, but now I‘ve fully switched over to using the “Block Editor” for my content and no longer have issues with posts blowing up on me. It’s not an easy transition, but a necessary one, because they will stop supporting the “Classic Editor” at some future date.

Yes, I know that the “Classic Editor” won’t be around forever. Since I do have experience using the Block Editor, I won’t sweat it too much when I have to convert, but until that day comes I’m sticking with the “classic”, just out of sheer stubbornness, I guess. LOL. I’ve been a Word Press blogger for many years now, and I’ve been through several changes. This “block editor” change, however, doesn’t really seem to give users any “improvement” from the Classic. I suppose there are advantages. I just haven’t seen them yet.

I hated the new block editor when they first introduced it. I’m getting used to it now. Good luck with your post.

I got so frustrated with it I had to just delete it. I’ll re-write it next week.

I sympathise and hope you can sort this out soon. 🙂

It was a frustrating morning. Between rain, flooding, and WP… LOL. Not a good day.

You probably know this, but in case you don’t, you can get around the block editor by starting a post, saving it (I usually save it at the title stage😂), and then going into the old dashboard and “editing ” (aka writing from scratch) your saved post using the “classic editor.” I think I’m going to write a post about this tomorrow on my own blog, because that strategy has saved me a lot of heartache and headaches. All I wanna do is post a BLOG, WordPress! I don’t need all the bells and whistles. Make it easier on us, for Pete’s sake. Offer a clear, simple choice for bloggers who aren’t building websites for their online business. Learn a little something about UX and treat us bloggers with more respect! (end of rant😄)

I’m still using the classic editor by logging in to WP Admin. I can select “Classic Editor” when I start a new post. For some reason, though, that’s not resolving the formatting issues today.

I’m sorry to hear that and hope you’re able to resolve those issues soon, and relatively painlessly!

Occasionally WP just refuses to format a post correctly… and then, the next day it will be fine again. I’m going to try re-writing the post, just making a “fresh start” with it. Hopefully I’ll get it published after the first of the week. Thanks for all the good thoughts.

It’s part of blogging, I guess. But it’s not a very fun part.

Yes, I’m using the free plan. I hope to continue using it. WP gets frustrating at times, though.
