Time again for “Art Quiz”, and I’ll admit that this question stumped me. I wasn’t familiar with the painting mentioned, so I took a guess — and guessed wrong. You’ll probably do better.
Here is the question: To which artistic movement does Paul Gauguin’s The Yellow Christ belong?
- Fauvism
- Impressionism
- Bauhaus
- Cloisonnism
Check back at noon (CST) for the answer post!
I would go fo Fauvism

The art quiz was really fun for me. I knew some, guessed some right, missed some completely. 🙂

I have always thought it a sort of symbolistic painting, which I suppose makes it Cloisonist.
Great posts by the way.

Thanks. You know more about art than I did. I guessed fauvism — and was wrong. I hope you’ll enjoy reading the “answer” post later today.

Ditto on the Cloisonnism choice. I thought it was odd when we studied him in Art History, but there you go.

I was totally unfamiliar with the painting and the style, so I learned a lot while I was putting the answer post together. It will be posting in a couple hours if you want to check it out. 🙂

Generally considered Fauvism, but occasionally lumped in with Impressionism or Expressionism
